New technique - "resist felting"

Not sure what I think of this yet, but it’s an interesting concept:

um, personally i dont like the look at all, but thats personal opinion really.

not something i’ll be trying

It looks more like it just fuzzed up the unwrapped sections, either that or she didn’t felt if for very long.
Interesting concept,but don’t think it’s one I’d try.

Kinda ratty looking.

Hi There!

I think in some situations, it could turn out well (bag handles, maybe?) but honestly I’m not loving the color combo with the idea… looks a bit like a moldy orange:teehee: Could be cute though…

Love,
Lexie:muah:

I think I will resist trying it! LOL !!! Not very appealing and the moldy comment is right on the mark!

Super yuck. Don’t like it at all.

i remember seeing this kinda technique on knitty, it can turn out really cute

I have to agree that the scarf looks pretty ratty!

However, I was in a hurry with some last minute Christmas gifts and ended up using two different brands of yarn for a felted purse…one felted way faster than the other. In the end, I sort of liked the result.

I looked through a ‘shibori’ knitting book at the LYS once and it was pretty neat. They were basically using the felted vs. unfelted sections to sculpt with the yarn/fabric.

i think the idea is neat, but i think the way she did it made it look odd… the colors didn’t look atractive that way. the scarf is cute, and I like the way Lisa r.'s bag turned out.

It kinds reminds me of the deconstruction garment phase that occurred in the 80’s… I could see how it would be really cute for certain items. It’s really trendy right now to revisit the 80’s. Mall hair anyone?

cute purse!
