Maybe when people first register they could automatically be taken to a FAQ page, and the first three times they post a new topic get a paragraph at the top of the page reminding them it’s here - it seems many people didn’t know about it. I assumed there would be a search function somewhere here, but had to look around before I noticed it, and to this day tend to look around my screen thinking ‘I know it’s here somewhere’, but it still takes me 3-10 seconds to locate it. I’m not doing this to save MY time, if I don’t want to bother answering a Q I can simply not click on it, if I do it’s because I’m choosing to answer the question. But it’s also faster and easier for me to search Google or KH to get many well-written answers/tutorials immediately, it’s the same for beginners.
I would be happy to contribute some explanations of things like gauge or whatever.
Then, to answer a Q, you could refer someone to the page if you prefer, or answer their question yourself… but no-one’s going to write a long post explaining gauge to answer a question, people will get more detailed explanations this way.
