New Project

So, I just finished my knitting project, and I tried it on, and am somewhat disappointed. The sleeves are a little too tight, I can adjust it somewhat, but it doesn’t quite meet my expectations. Anyone else have this problem?

Now I have found a new project that, of course, looks fabulous on the model. The pattern calls for Lorna’s Laces Swirl Chunky yarn in Chocolate. I live in a shopping-deprived area we will call the country, and I have window shopped for yarn online, but the prices take my breath away. Am I just being cheap, I AM semi-retired. Plus you can’t really see the color or feel the yarn online. Anyone have a suggestion for a substitute yarn that is not totally acrylic. (that’s bad, right?) (I am running out of closet area for these space-hogging knits.)

Goopy

If you don’t mind a little wool Plymouth Encore Chunky might work. It’s a nice yarn and a lot less expensive than the other. It’s 75% acrylic and 25% wool. I use it a lot for various knitting projects. Well, I use the worsted, but it’s the same fiber.

You don’t have to use the same yarn a pattern does, anything of a similar weight will work. There’s plenty of inexpensive bulky/chunky yarn available much less than Lorna’s Laces which is one of the more expensive yarns out there.
