I have sort of got this casting thing down…but cannot get my next row. My friend that is teaching me to knit is out of town for the week. She had started my scarf for me, but my kids got it messed up and now I am starting over…please someone help me out on this. I am 25 and very busy, but would love to learn how to do this. I don’t want to have to take this back to my friend with not as much done as was done when she handed it to me.

Perhaps you can tell us what you pattern says for the next row? Is it staight knitting, or is it purling? What is it that is giving you the problem…
straight knitting, I think… I am very new to this all, ie. yesterday was the first time I ever touched a knitting needle.
well, from here you get to decide to be a continental knitter or an english knitter. watch both of amy’s videos for “k” or knit, and choose the one that is most comfortable for you. i think it is easiest to watch and amy’s videos are really clear. good luck! welcome to the club!
