Hi, I’m a new knitter would like to knit a sweater but I’m not understand what does it mean on right front piece on shape neck.
Row 1 ( right side) : k1,p2,k2, place 5 system just worked on a holder, work to end. Row 2:work as established to end. Bind off 2 started at beginning of next 2 right side rows. Work 1wrong side row evenly. Next row (Dec row, right side): ask, work as established to end. Work 1 wrong side row evenly., then repeat the Dec row above once more. Please can someone help to translate it. Thanks
Welcome to KH!
What is the name of your pattern?
When the pattern talks about the right front piece, it’s the right front as you would wear the sweater. The neck will be shaped at the beginning of the RS (right side) rows, that is with the outer or public side of the piece facing you.
Work the first 5sts as given and place on a holder or waste yarn,This is the neck edge. Follow the same pattern you have been using to the end of the row, turn and work row 2.
Row 3, at the neck edge bind off 2sts, finish the row, turn and work the next row, row 4. Repeat the bind off at the neck edge on row 5 and work row 6 without any decreases (this is what it means to “work even”.
Row 7 (Dec row, RS) probably the pattern is calling for ssk (your spellcheck may have changed it to ask). Work row 8 and repeat the ssk at the beginning of row 9.
Hi, I’m knitting lazy day chic sweater using double moss stitch pattern. So it mean I need to leave that 5sts on holder. Then bind off is from the rest of the sts or that 5sts.
sorry for a lot of question.Bind off from the main body of the sweater, the rest of the sts on the needle. Forget the 5sts on hold for now.
We love questions so don’t hesitate to ask more.
Oh that great thank you for your explaination. If I got stuck I will ask again thanks again.
