Hello everyone! I am very new to knitting and this has happened. There are two big empty loops at the end of the line. I am not sure what the problem is so I don’t even know what to search for online to help. I will attach a photo and any tips would be great.
Hello
Thanks for the pictures. It looks like you may have a dropped stitch at the very end (beginning) of the row.
If you have removable stitch markers (or safety pins) it’s a good idea to get one onto any stray loop as soon as possible after dropping as it saves them from laddering down and means you can more closely inspect what they are are where they belong without risking making it worse.
See if this video helps
Do you have a crochet hook to use for catching ladders? It’s possible with a knitting needle but it’s harder. The crochet hook doesn’t need to be an exact size, just smaller than the knitting needles. If you don’t have a hook and have to use a needle, a smaller one to the one you’re knitting with will work better. Don’t worry about the size of the stitch.
If this doesn’t seem like it, let us know.
Welcome to knitting, and to the Forum!
Yes, as @Creations said, you’ve dropped a couple of stitches right on the edge. You have some options. You can try to fix it, using the video they posted. You can “tink” (“knit” spelled backwards) back one stitch at a time until you’re on a row without the mistake. You can undo several stitches at once and then pick them up on the needle before pulling out more stitches. You can “frog” (rip-it, rip-it) the whole thing and start again. Here’s a video with several techniques.
