i’ll do the formal intro later, but i would like to ask a question:
i watched the video and have just finished casting on (via the long tail or double cast on method) 200 stitches to start a baby blanket for a friend of mine. here’s my question:
What do i do with the remainder of the “tail” that is now hanging from my needles? i guess i over estimated who much i’d need???

You have to work it into your blanket some how. You can let it hang and use a yarn needle (or darning needle) later. Or the way I find easier is to knit it into your work. Just hold both strands together and knit it for a few stitches (I do more than most and usually go 6 stitches.) Amy has a video of a small sample here and she does this…

Hi,
Welcome…when you are done you would need to “weave” the ends in. If it gets in your way you can weave it in after knitting several rows. This keeps everything from unraveling.
When you finish the piece you will have another end to weave in.
You can cut it to 3-4" and let it go, threading it into nearby sts when you’re done.

THanks for the welcome and for the tip. that video was just what i needed.
as far as the blanket goes - i’m not sure what it is i’m making… hee hee hee… my mom told me to knit/purl 4 rows, then after those 4 rows, knit/purl the first 4 and last 4 stitches of each subsequent rows and knit in between. then knit/purl the last 4 rows… it’ll make a basic blanket with a nice edge - so she’s told me.
