Hi! I recived a beautiful bamboo yarn and I have a sodt ‘fur’ yarn that goes well with it and decided to treat myself to a new scarf.
I’m knitting it in horizontal stripes and want to carry the non working yarn up the side.
How do you hide it? I’ve crocheted for 45 years and know how to with a hook but not with sticks. Thank You! Beth:knitting: :wall:
Horizontal striped scarf is my next project, so I’m interested in finding out the answer too.
I did some research earlier and thought Russian Join would be helpful. But that requires you cutting the yarn at every color change:

I’ve seen instructions on how to carry the yarn on the back side of the project, but that wouldn’t work in case of scarves.
If it’s just a couple of rows, you can certainly carry yarn up the sides of a scarf. Drop yarn A, begin knitting with yarn B for 2 rows, then you’re at the edge where yarn A is. Loosely twist the two yarns around each other, drop B and knit 2 rows with A. If you want to change on every row or knit more than 2 rows with each yarn, you would have to cut and weave in ends.
