I didn’t realize the tips were shorter so they would accomodate a 16". I rarely use them anymore preferring ML anyway. Good to know we have a choices now for reasonably priced needles. ![]()
:???:
Jan, out of curiosity, I just measured both the Knitter’s Pride Cubics I have with my regular Harmony and Option needles, and surprisingly enough, the Knitter’s Pride appear to be approximately an eight-of-an-inch longer. I have a pair of the KnitPicks fixed circular on a 16" cable and I felt as though I was knitting with something way too short for my long hand - did not like them at all. I do hope the new needles and 16" cable will not be a problem :???:
Interesting… It seems to me if the needles are longer then it would be hard to knit with that small of a cable. I don’t care as much for the shorter ones myself although I’ve only used the fixed circular 16" that length.
:hair: We’ll see, if I ever finish current project and return to the one that requires sleeves knitted in the round. I hope it will work out - or
Hi,
I went through the entire discussion but not sure which one should I buy…
I have 3 choices
- Options Interchnagable Harmony set
- Options Nickel plated
- Knitters Pride Dreamz
Knitters Pride Dreamz is sold at one of the best yarn store in my city. They are manufactured in India apart from that I dont know anything about them. The local store only has Knitters Pride interchangable brand set and other two i will have to buy online.
I am currently using clover circular needles but want to buy a set since its cheaper…
Any suggestion??
Knitter’s Pride is pretty much the same needle as Knit picks needles, same factory makes them to different specifications.
vvs, you might want to get a try it set, both companies have a set with each of the needle types included.
As soon as I can, I’m going to order the wood needles from WEBS because of the different colors and pointy points. I noticed someone else, way at the early part of this thread wasn’t thrilled with Addi Turbo. I bought my size 2 with a long cable (don’t know how long) for 2 @ time socks and I do not like them. The cable is kinked and spiralled. I bought them locally at Ben Franklin with the understanding that they were returnable and then was told they aren’t. Guess I won’t be spending money on something expensive I want to try there again, and since I won’t be looking for needles I wish to get locally, I won’t be looking at their yarn and stuff either. Too bad.
There’s no way anyone can tell you what to get because needle material is all personal preference. I suggest that you get the Try It set and then you can see which one you prefer. Actually I believe the ones at Webs also have a try it type of set. Don’t know the name of it though.
