New here, new to knitting & needle questions!

They’re really great needles, and IMHO, well worth the investment. If you think that knitting is a hobby that you’re going to keep at, I would definitely recommend getting them. They are worth it.

Btw, are you on ravelry? I’d like to add ya as a friend if you are.

You don’t have to buy a full set, there’s a starter set with 3 needles in different sizes and each of the 3 materials, and it comes with 2 cords. Then you can buy tips in other sizes as you need them.

In another thread I said I took the plunge, a short time ago, and ordered the Knit Picks Options TRY IT Set (Like what Suzeeq was just talking about.) Well they just arrived!!!:woot: I had to transfer a small project I’ve been working on immediately to the Harmony needles. What can I say?..I’m totally in love with them already!:inlove: Right now I’m knitting flat, but soon I’ll be trying my hand at knitting in the round. I thought these were reasonably priced and the delivery was fast too.

Yes, I’m on Ravelry, okckwilter, although I haven’t done anything other than read threads and browse patterns.

I saw that! You’re right, looks like it’d be a great way to start out!

The slipperiness of aluminum needles is driving me nuts, but I’m on a budget. I keep dropping stitches. Are the nickel-plated one less slippery?

In my opinion, they’re a bit more slippery than aluminum. From what I understand, if you want something with better grip, you should probably try out the harmonies.

The acrylic zephyrs are in between the metal and wood ones as far as slippery goes.
