OK, I am putting in a major plug for my newly found, very favorite LYS!!! If you live near Marietta, GA… GO THERE!
The shop is called “The Purly Gates” ‘A Heavenly Knittery’ and it is off the Marietta Square. Parking is… :wall: seriously bad! But it was so worth it! There was only lady in the shop (appropriately enough! Amy!!!) and she was so awesome. She was funny and interesting and really loved working in a yarn store!
I bought yarn for FT clogs for my DD - Cascade in black and veridan. :shock: She picked the colors here, not me! (It’s a pretty funky green) and I splurged and bought… (drum roll please!) Addi Turbo’s! :happydance: I hated my other cables but refused to buy more until I knew the right ones to buy. Thanks to you guys, I am in the know!!
Now, here’s the coolest thing about my new favorite LYS: Every other LYS that I’ve gone to, they wish shoppers good luck with winding their yarn and gleefully offer to sell tools to make it easier. NOT here! :fingerwag: I had paid for everything and was giddy with excitement, semi dreading the whole “wind the yarn” thing but… thrilled anyway. At this point, Amy says to me, “would you like for me to wind that for you?” :shock: “Excuse me?” I kid you not, Amy gladly wound my yarn and showed me her work and chatted up a storm with me! It was awesome! I have attached photos to show how lovely everything looked!
I will always go back to this LYS! It was so much fun! So much more pleasant than another LYS that I’ve gone to but will not name. Now my only problem is… I hate to mess up the pretty balls! :oops: Maybe I’ve just been going to the wrong LYS and everyone does this but, to me, it was the coolest thing ever!
So there’s my tip for the day! “The Purly Gates” is, indeed, a ‘Heavenly Knittery’ and a must for anyone in or coming to Marietta!
