New Debbie Bliss Knitting Magazine

I got the premiere issue this morning at B&N. Has anyone else gotten this? There are some gorgeous sweaters/shrugs, etc.

I guess that’s the one I picked up at Hobby Lobby. They do have beautiful sweaters in there.

I bought it today! I have never knit a sweater before, but there are 3 in there that would look great on my son, so I’m willing to find some courage and try a sweater. Soon. But I love the magazine!

I also bought it but I am wanting to knit the pillows for each of my girls, I like that each letter is graphed out already.

I also bought the Simply Knitting from Britain and I love that one also. It is not laid out so much like a knitting mag though, it almost reminds me of the mag First for Women but in a good way.

I saw that Simply Knitting at Borders, but it was sealed in that plastic wrapper or whatever you call it. I hate not being able to see what is inside!

I saw it there too, and one of them was out of the wrapper; don’t know if the store did it so people could get a look and hopefully buy it, or someone took it out. Didn’t see the plastic anywhere.

I don’t know about the most recent issue, but the wrapper just opens and seals up again on the bottom back so you don’t have to rip it off–I’ve taken other magazines in bags up to the customer service/help desk area and asked that they be opened so I can look before I buy, it’s never been a problem.

Mine was also sealed in plastic but it was sealed with some knitting clip and the next issue will come with “a yarn tidy bag” (if you are knitting with 3 skeins of yarns, it will hold them a seperatly so you do not get them mixed up) and there is a pattern from Alan Dart-a cowboy. I am thinking of getting a subscription to it, well that in Interweave Knits!

My LYS store ran out and I was in A.C.Moores and they had lots of copies and it was cheaper by a dollar. I just have to remember that the patterns are British and not all the stitches are the same.:aww:

I love Simply Knitting! The free gifts with each issue are pretty nice. I got some great cable needles, bobbins, bamboo needles. And the most recent, the yarn tidy is really nice! I’ve been using it all weekend. I may just go back to the book store and pick up another.

I love  Debbie Bliss’ designs (I have a couple of her books) but I have to say I’ve always been put off knitting her sweaters because so many of them are knit with DK weight yarn on small needles. I just don’t know that I have the patience to knit a sweater on 2, 3, or 4 size needles. I know they are lovely but at the rate I knit these days a sweater would take forever!
