Hi, I’m a newbie, both in this forum and as a knitter
I’ve been planning on knitting my very first hat using the magic loop. I just bought a circular 80 cm needle, and I’ve been practicing doing the magic loop, which I learned by watching videos online. The problem is I can’t find a simple pattern/video in knitting a hat using the magic loop. Everything about magic loop and socks. I need a video/pattern I can easily follow (w/c also includes how-to’s on the decreasing parts, gauge, etc). Any suggestions?
any pattern which is knit in the round can be done using magic loop. If the pattern doesnt explicitly say it is worked in the round then you can tell if the directiosn tell you to work ‘rounds’ rather than ‘rows’.
If a pattern talks about using DPNs then cast on your stitches for magic loop, dividing them in half as you normally would. The pattern will liekly say place X number of stitch on DPN 1 and 3 and X number on DPN number 2. what you need to do it place markers after these numbers of stitches, as they might be reffered to later as palces to start decreases or similar.
Thanks, Sophie. So that’s why I couldn’t find a specific pattern for hats using magic loop.Turns out I can also use patterns that are knit in the round and those that use DPNs. Thanks again!
