Hello there, was eager to start a sock pattern. The pattern asks for 2.25 mm needles, however i only have a 2.75 mm pair on me. Was wondering can i use the 2.75 mm without having issues or would i half to go out and buy a smaller pair of needles?

Welcome to KH. Can you use larger needles? Yes. Will you like the result? Who knows? With socks a tight gauge (usually 8 st/in or tighter) is important for fit and longevity of the socks. If you get 8 st/in using the needles you have and the socks fit it should be OK. When I knit socks with fingering yarn I use 2.5 mm or smaller. You might knit a lot tighter than do.

Hello
Have you tried to make a gauge swatch with the needles and the yarn you will use? This is a great way to find out if you are knitting to the gauge needed or not. You might need a different size needle or you might not.
