Needle Inventory Card

Does anyone have an online site for a card one can inventory their needles on, print out and carry it with them when making purchases? Our knitting group would LOVE this. :x: Thanks!

Ravelry does this…

Oh I would love one of these!

…Still waiting for my invite at Ravelry…

I would too! I’m also waiting on Ravelry. My local store is thinking of bringing in an inventory card, but I would like one that you can keep updated and print out…how cool would that be??

Woolgirl.com carries a needle inventory card. I think she sells them for $2.

I just joined Ravelry last weekend and was thrilled to throw away my Post-It Note needle inventory and enter it in Ravelry. It’s great to see it documented (if not a little shocking) but I haven’t been able to get it to print out.

Has anyone else been able to get it to print, or is it just me?

I think Casey is still working on fixing that. The last thing I read is that he knows about the bug with the printing option and he was working on fixing it.

Thanks, AngMac. I thought it might have been my computer.

I made this one. It prints out to business card size. I stuck mine in a plastic sleeve (like a credit card holder) or you could just laminate it so it doesn’t get too worn.

Instead of checking off which size I have (and I use DPNs and circulars no straights), I use a hole punch to mark which ones I have. That way you don’t have to print out and re-laminated whenever you buy new needles.

Wow…thanks EVERYONE for your helpful replies! Now all I have to do is inventory them…LOL…that’ll keep me busy for a while!

i believe some people’s LYS’s carry them…

There’s a new product that some yarn stores are beginning to carry, called NEEDLECARD – it is a portable knitting needle and crochet hook inventory:

my LYS gives a needle inventory card with each business card they hand out
for free
any questions why they are one of my 2 favorite LYS?

I have one I carry in my calendar in my purse - & if you are familiar with an Excel Spreadsheet at all - its very easy to make one yourself - with the way you want to put them in order.
I actually created a few cards with the same sizes but at the top, but the name brand of needles - Bamboo, Aidis, Quicksilver, MISC - & then just hooked them together so I can see what sort of needles I have in which size - mainly because to me, certain yarns feel better on certain needles & this way, I can get maybe the same size but in a different brand of needle. I like my set up - Very easy to make on your own!
