This is my first time knitting this project and using DPN’s (bare with me) I was curious what K to 5 sts from end means. After that it says K2tog,k3, 8 times. This is from rounds 27-34. I know how to do the rest of the row, but I’m just a bit stuck on that one part. If anyone can help me out, I will be very grateful. Thank you.

Knit to 5sts from the end means to knit until there are 5sts remaining unworked on the left hand needle or 5sts before the end of round marker. I don’t know why it would be between asterisks as that usually means to repeat the instruction.
K2tog, k3 should be within asterisks or parentheses (k2tog, k3) because it’s a direction that you repeat 8 times. So k2tog, k3, k2tog, k3, k2tog, k3 etc.
