Need visual help with star stitch

Hi all

My name is Gerda, I’m from Iceland and I’m both new here and a new knitter

Almost everything I’ve learned, I’ve learned from watching the videos here, so a huge thanks to you for making them

Now I have a question…I want to knit the skirt in the link, but for the life of me I can not understand by reading how to make the star stitch…I’m better at watching and learning then by reading…
Do any of you know of a video to learn this stitch ??

I wish that I could be more help to you than this, but good luck. That many k5tog and doing it 3 times each on the same 5 stitches is going to be hard.

You just have to take it one step at a time, maybe practice it on some scrap yarn with bigger needles.

K5tog, leave the old st on the left needle, YO, knit into the 5 sts again, YO, k into the 5 sts once more. Or practice with the small star first, it may be easier - k3tog, YO, k3tog - you’re only knitting into that twice instead of 3 times.

Thanks so much, I did it ! It needs some practice but I did it

Welcome to Knitting Help, Gerda!

Thank you so much Jan

Welcome to KH! Just a suggestion if you have trouble with a certain part of a pattern try having someone else read it to you while you do it. Seems to help me anyway and my hubby finally learned knitting language!

Hahaha I’ll try that  Thanks
