Does anyone have a great fitted V-neck tunic pattern? My daughter is wanting me to make her a sweater like that but I cannot find an appropriate pattern. I want a modest one, not with the V cut down to her naval. I’m sure you’ve seen these sweaters as a lot of the younger girls are wearing them with jeans.
Viveka from knitty is really cute, but the v-neck is pretty deep.
have you checked knitting pattern central ?
How about this one???
Thanks, but that sweater is just a little low. LOL And I have checked out knitting pattern central. Couldn’t find what I was looking for. I think this one is going to be hard to find. I did find one I might be able to lengthen and tighten a little and make it work, but I’d rather just have a pattern I don’t have to do anything to. I’m not good at improvising.
How about Sahara?
Knitting Pure & Simple has some good basic patterns, if there is a shorter sleeve style that you like the body of, you could probably just make the sleeves longer.
Thanks for that link. I copied the shops in my area (Atlanta) where she has her patterns so I’ll look next time I’m there. She has some cute basic type sweaters.
Yeah, I’ve looked at those already but they are just too low cut for us modest folks. They are cute though other than that.
You can always wear a camisole or tanktop underneath. :teehee:
That’s true. And if I knew how to improvise when using a pattern I might be able to use that one. But my daughter did not like those flared sleeves either. I’ve just about decided not to try and make her one. She’s too “picky” for me. Ha! :grrr:
Wendy over at Knit and Tonic has a pattern for a fitted v-neck in all shapes and sizes and yarn weights: Essential Stripe Sweater
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I have looked high and low for this pattern. I have already bought it and downloaded it. I appreciate your help sooooooo much. :notworthy:
Good! I’m glad it worked out for you I’ve been eyeing that sweater for awhile but I’m 8 months pregnant and so I’m doing my best not to start new projects (so hard not to do!!) and partcicularly projects that I’d need to know what size I’ll be post-pregnancy
