Need Suggestions for Today's Purchase

Ok - I couldn’t help myself. I bought two balls of “Bernat Shimmer”. It is blue/silver. I can’t find anything on it on the Bernat website, and only a couple mentions in other places about other people like me looking for any info on it and not being able to find it One emailed Bernat without a response yet. Anyway, it is pretty, and I will find something to do with it! :wink:

I have a bad habit of buying what I like and worrying later about what to use it for. It never goes to waste, though!

So, the yarn is (I have two):

300g/10.5 oz
886m/696 yards
65% acrylic, 19% nylon, 12% polyester

Size is listed as “3” (light)
recommended crochet: US F/5 and US 5 for knitting needle

Any ideas? Of course, I’m thinking a shawl, but I wouldn’t mind a nice duster, and with the amount I have (and access to more of the same), that would be cool if I could find a duster pattern. (By duster, I am picturing in my mind a long, sleek, flowy jacket-like to go with a shell, a pair of black slacks and heels.

I also totally splurged and got Susan Bates, ‘Velocity’ size 13 circs, 29". I’ve never tried the ‘velocity’ before. They were $11.:slight_smile:

I looked on Ravelry, and here are a few patterns that people have made with Bernat Shimmer.

In all the above, the knitter substituted the Shimmer for the yarn that was called for in the pattern, but they look really nice. If you have a Ravelry account, you might want to take a look around.
