HI, Everyone,
I have several amazon gift certifiates and I’d like to buy a new knitting book. The local Borders didn’t have anything on the shelf. I like to see the book before buying blindly. Debbie Bliss was recommended to me but there are so many! I want to make baby or kid things. I love to make hats. If any of you have a wonderful book that you can recommend, I’d like to hear about it!

A friend of mine really likes this book
The baby hats in it are so cute!!
I have this book, it has very cute patterns for little ones.
Oh my, there are so many knitting books out that I want, too! Good luck narrowing the selection down! You can pop over to Knit Picks and look at the books, they usually have the same as does Amazon, but KnitPicks has a feature that allows you to look in the books, that may be helpful.
If I were you, I’d make a list of possible choices and post it for review by all these forum knitters. It could help you rule some out. I know of one you should avoid: “The Big Book of Knitting” by Katherina Buss or something like that. The pictures are fantastic, but the translation from German into English is not good, so a lot of the instructions are extremely confusing.
if you’re looking for a project book, i really like this one - they have a fair number of hat patterns, scarves, ponchos, wristwarmers…
Thanks for the suggestions. I especially like the online reviews. The one book that has so many errors makes me cringe! I’m still in the review stage so I welcome any other suggestions. I may have enough $ for more than one. Lucky me!
