Need some help with pattern

I am a little confused as to how to work this pattern. Up until this part, I have had no troubles so I am feeling a little helpless here right now.

This is how it goes…
LEFT FRONT
CO 36 (39, 42, 45, 48, 51) sts.
Shape dart:
Begin first row, knit across first row to last 3 sts.
Wrap next st, turn and work back.
Next row: Work to last 6 sts, wrap next st, turn and work back.
Continue in this manner, wrapping every third st until
12 (13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 19) sts have been wrapped.
AT THE SAME TIME, shape side:
Working in st st, work even for first 6 rows from beg.
Beginning with next row, inc 1 st at the beginning of every 4 rows;
continue to inc 1 st at the beginning of every 4 rows. When all sts
have been wrapped, work across row, picking up and knitting all
wrapped sts.
Neckline shaping:
Work first 6 rows of neckline even. Next, dec 1 st every 4th row.
Continue to work side incs until 10 incs have been made, then work
even on side until piece measures 6½” from lowest (left-hand) corner.
Shape armhole:
BO 5 (6, 6, 6, 6, 6) sts at the beginning of next RS row. BO 4 sts at
the beginning of the foll RS row.
Dec 1 st at armhole side next 2 (4, 5, 6, 6, 6) rows.
Continue shaping neckline until there are 21 (21, 24, 24, 27, 30) sts
on needle.
Work even until armhole measures 8” (8½”, 9”, 9½”, 9¾”, 10”).

There are instructions on how to do the wrapping and shaping with the short rows. What is confusing me right now is when and how do I do the shaping on both sides of the garment. If someone could walk me through this I would be very happy. :muah:

Thanks

AT THE SAME TIME, shape side:
Working in st st, work even for first 6 rows from beg.
Beginning with next row, inc 1 st at the beginning of every 4 rows;
continue to inc 1 st at the beginning of every 4 rows. When all sts
have been wrapped, work across row, picking up and knitting all
wrapped sts.

As you’re doing your short rows, you will be completing the 6 rows of st st automatically. After you have the 6 rows done, continue doing the wraps, but also start the increases at the beginning of the knit rows.

When all the short rows are done, you’ll work across the entire row, picking up the wraps. Then you’ll start the neck shaping.

Thanks ingrid that does make sense now…duh!

inc 1 st at the beginning of every 4 rows;
continue to inc 1 st at the beginning of every 4 rows.

does this mean every fourth row?

Yes!

Thanks again!

And wow…you are fast!

Ingrid’s like - on here even more than I am… ;D

:verysad: I have freedom until Tuesday. Then I’ll be back at work. sigh

We’re packing to move. Tuesday we pick up the truck and start loading and hope to be on the road Wednesday sometime. Then drive 1400 miles west for 2-3 days. I may not be on here until week after next. Maybe.
