Need some help with binding off instructions on the neckline of this sweater

Hello…first time poster to this site…and newby to knitting, so bear with me please. I’ve completed the back piece of the baby sweater I am making, and I’m at the point where you begin the back neckline.

It says this: Bind off 15 sts at beg. next row. Place next 26 sts on a holder. Bind off remaining 15 sts.
I am so confused. I did the binding off of the first 15 sts, on the WS (purl side), and I collected the next 26 sts onto a pin holder. Now my question is : how do I take the last stitch over the held stitches to bind off the remaining 15 sts, on the left side of the sweater shoulder area? I looked on websites, videos, read knitting books and couldn’t find an answer! PLEASE HELP! I need to get this birthday gift I’m making for my one year old grandson finished this weekend!

Hi and welcome to Knitting Help. Don’t worry about using a stitch from the holder, just bind off the last 15 in the normal way, that is knit the first two stitches and pass one over. HTH

thanks! I actually got desperate and called a local yarn Boutique and the owner walked me thru it. She said I need to cut off the tail end of the yarn after binding off and tie it off…then go and bind off the remaining 15 stitches! I don’t need to bypass the 26 stitches on the holder and have a long dangling yarn crossing over the neckline! :frowning: That was what I was worried about doing. Sorry…didn’t know anything about this going into this project! Learning as I go! <3
