Need help witha line in this pattern

hello all!

I’m doing this circular shrug:

I’m confused with the mock ribbing.

Right Side (RS) K1P1 rib across. WS: P1, SL1YF (slip 1 on with yarn forward) across.

Does this mean to slop knitwise or purlwise. Also, it should work out that I’m purling the purl stitches and knitting the knit stitches right?

On the right side, it’s just basic ribbing, and on the back you’re purling the purls as they face you and slipping the knits. Slip them purlways.

Because you’ll be working on the wrong side I would slip 1 purlwise. For your second question, yes, on the right side of your work it should work out that you’ll be purling the purls and knitting the knits. It seems to me that your knits and your slipped stitches should line up and your purls should line up.

thanks ladies! That’s what I thought, but I just needed a second opinion!
