I am confused at the SHAPE THUMB step. Do I continue doing row 1 & 2 and then 3&4 , under the shape thumb heading& if that is the case… what do I do with all the stitches that I have added on? Row 1&2 is for only 41 st. Please help. I have attached the pattern link. Thank you
they won’t let me post the pattern! so I am going to post this again.
Nice pattern.
The extra thumb sts are NOT counted in the original st count (41 in your case) and therefore, are not part of the 4 row pattern.
You need to place markers when you start the thumb (thumb row 3 - first time). On subsequent rows the thumb (increases) will remain/grow between the markers and are worked as per the plain side areas (purled).
Thank you. I came to the conclusion that I should k on row 1 and p on row 2, between the markers. , because the stitches on either side of the markers stay the same… if that makes sense! Time will tell.
They’re worked flat, then seamed, correct? Yes, I think you k a row, p a row on the thumb section. It looks to be done in stockinette.
Yes, it’s worked flat. I have been k on rows 1&3 and purling on rows 2&4, between the markers. It looks correct. Thank you for replies.
These will be lovely. Post pictures if you’d like.
I will post pics. I actually made these with yarn scraps… so they are multi-colored. So far… they look awesome
