Need help with stocking heel

Hello, i just finished knitting myself a Christmas stocking, but the heel came out all wrong. I doubled the pattern because I wanted the stocking to be bigger, and I thought that wouldn’t matter, but clearly it does. :grimacing: Everything looks great except for the heel. It’s way too big.

If I fold it it kind of resembles what I’m going for:

I just can’t figure out how to achieve this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
This isn’t the pattern: http://saltycrafts.blogspot.com/2016/11/my-new-favorite-Christmas-stocking.html?m=1

I love it! As for the heel, I’m not entirely sure but I think it could be fixed if it was taken back a bit then decreased earlier? It would admittedly require doing a little maths to get right. Lifelines would be a very good idea before you think about pulling anything out - make sure they’re in the same place on both sides if you use them.
I could be wrong with my assumptions, hopefully someone else can back me up or suggest a better idea, but I sincerely hope you manage to fix it, it looks fantastic.

The stocking is gorgeous! I agree with Shintoga, on fixing and on lifelines. You might look into an afterthought heel.

Thank you for your help. I started decreasing on the first or second round, so maybe if I decrease twice as much every time it should come out better. I doubled everything in the pattern except for the decreases so maybe that’ll help. I didn’t have to double the decreases for the toe, and that came out fine, but maybe the heel is different.
Thanks!

Sounds like a good plan. Let us know if it works!
