I need some help with an old pattern, Knitting Primer | 100 Easy-to-Knit Stitches plus Instructions for Sampler Afghans | Volume 34
I’m stuck on block 23. I’m not sure if it’s me or if the pattern has mistakes in it, but it’s just not computing. Has anyone had any experience with this block?
I’m confused on the increase rows.
Example, on row 2 you have …p3…
Row 3 …Inc 1 st, k 1, Inc 1 st but where the k1 is there are already 3 stitches
And row 4 … p5
So on row 3 rather then the k1 so you k3?
The entire pattern is like this. I’d if I’m over thinking it, but I’ve gotten myself totally confused lol
Row 2 -P 5, k 13, p 3, k 13, p 5.
Row 3 -K 5, p 11, p 2 tog., inc. 1 st, k 1, inc 1 st, p 2 tog., p 11, k5.
On row 2 there is a p3 at the center with symmetrical sts on either side. On row 3 you have a k1 at the center with an increase in each of the knit sts on either side of the k1. You could work a knit front and back or a knit right loop or knit left loop here. Any increase will work as long as it’s in a stitch.
Have you tried this on the needles? It may be less confusing with the sts and needles in hand.
Gotcha. For some reason I had the inc 1 as a make 1stitch in my head.
Makes total sense when you read it correctly lol
Just needed it spelled out! Thank you!
