Hi everyone,
I just bought the Options Slippers pattern for Women by Kris Basta and I have a question.
What does this mean:
Do not bind off. Cut yarn, fasten off and weave in.
The part that confuses me is fasten off and weave in.
It’s a knitting pattern.
Thanks for helping me!!
It’d bloody well confuse me, too!
But without some context it’s a bit difficult to comment. And since I would dearly like to read something Informative by one or other of the experts here, could you please provide a bit more of what the pattern says before that instruction?
Would that happen to be the toe of the slipper? Often, the top of a hat, or the toe of a slipper, or sometimes glove fingers and mitten tops end that way rather than with a bind-off because they need to come together in a rounded point.
If you’ve decreased to six or eight stitches, you’d fasten off by cutting a few inches from the work, running the working yarn through all the stitches and weaving what’s left through the work so it won’t come loose.
That’s what experts do: they don’t ask for context because they can recognise situations.
Where are you in the pattern, the toe maybe? What were the last row or 2 having you do?
Thank you so much!!! Now I understand what it means!!
