Need help with hat blocking

Hello !! I just made the Mindy Hat that came as a kit from Jimmy Beans Wool

I had to play some serious yarn chicken to get this finished. Now, the hat is a wee bit shorter than I would like. I was wondering if there is a way to block the hat to get a bit of length, but without stretching out the width (it’s perfect size). I normally block hats on a ballon, I would appreciate any suggestions anyone has to offer

In order to make it a little longer you’ll have to stretch it lengthwise. I’m not sure how much it’ll stretch, but it probably will a little. I’ve used a balloon, too. You may have to just do this flat though.

Could you add a few more row maybe with a contrasting yarn?

Hi !! Thank You so much for all your help. I did decide ti stretch it out longer and blocked it… unfortunately I did not have any contrasting color yarn to lengthen the top. Hopefully this will work :slight_smile:
