Need help with fixing a mistake that was earlier on in a finished project!

Hello! I’m a new knitter. I’ll have been knitting for almost a year now!

I just recently finished a mitten for a gift and I realized that I missed a row! An entire row, back in the beginning of the project! I can’t believe I didn’t catch this before!

I know I can frog my way back to where the row should be, but it’s a 60-row project and the row I’m missing is row-10!

Is it possible to frog up towards the mistake from the beginning of the project instead of the end, and then knit back towards the beginning?

The design calls for a row of grey between the two different color work patterns. The grey row is what I’m missing.

I’m not sure what it’s supposed to look like, but I think you can just fudge it by using duplicate stitch if it really bothers you. Just make sure to do the exact same thing on the other one (skipped row) and no one will be the wiser.

I had no idea about duplicate stitching, thank you!
