I have done some knitting with dpn’s, made a few pair of socks after tearing them out a million times but now I have a couple patterns for a bath set calling for cast on 3 stitches and for the life of me I cant hold the needles or yarn or anything to get figured out, can anyone help? Sandy
The bath set is done on DPNs? I think what you’re talking about is that casting on only 3 sts is hard to work with-- with only those few sts, it’s hard to manage. But you probably are increasing very quickly from those 3 sts, and things will get easier the more sts you get on your needles.
Yes that is what it is but I cant get it started at all, after I get the 3 each on a needle I loose them
Assuming you start with the 3 stitches, then increase pretty quickly, you might try just knitting flat until you have 15 or so stitches. THen move them onto your dbl pt needles and join in the round. You can use the tail to sew up the bottom.
Thanks for the help, I will try that it goes from 3 stitchs on row one to 6 on row 2 and then 12 on row 4 but I just cant do the first row at all. Row 2 is K1, M1, repeat to end of round. Thanks Sandy
It is a bath puff the pattern is from Knit Picks and has 5 different things to knit
You can cast on 6 sts and put them on just 2 needles and use a 3rd to knit with. Then when you have 18 or 24, add another needle and rearrange the sts, it’ll be eaiser then. Or you can do the same with 3 sts - put 2 on one needle and one on the other.
