Do I knit 11 times meanig a total of 44 rows? Also, what does it mean AT THE SAME TIME?

You do the dec row, then on the 4th row 11 more times, which would be 48 rows total.

At the same time means that when your front gets to 10½" long, you do something else while you continue working the decs at the beg of the row.

You’ll work the first decrease row, and then repeat on the appropriate row for your size and then repeat it however many times for your row.

So if you’re making the third size in the parenthesis, you would do it a total of 12 times, which includes the first time.

When you get to the length for your size, you’ll continue the decreases you’ve been doing AND whatever they want you to do after you’ve reached that length.

I’m sorry, you don’t do the first dec on the 4th row, do it on the next row, then the 2nd one will be on the 5th row. So I guess there’s really only 45 rows. You don’t need to count the total rows, really, just begin with the next row - K1, ssk, knit to end of row - and dec on every 4th row. At whatever point while you’re doing the dec rows your work measures 10½" (it could be after the 30th rows or the 39th or whatever) then also do whatever comes next. You don’t do all the dec rows [I]then[/I] start the other thing, you do them [I]at the same time[/I] you’re doing the dec rows.
