:woot: I’m kind of a new knitter. I’v made some tube socks. on number 1, 2 size needles. but I would love to learn how to use a Circular Needle to make a one sock & then learn how to make 2 at a time.
I dont know any thing about circular needles. most of all I dont know what size to start out with. or how to make a sock or hat. Please help.
You can look at Silver’s Sock Class, it’s a pretty good tutorial for both single socks and 2 at a time. Use whatever needle gets you the gauge, that’s usually a size 1 or 2. For general in the round knitting, go to the videos on the Advanced Techniques page, or the ones at knit picks.
Here’s a website that tells you how to cast on two socks on one circular needle. You might want to bookmark it like I did. I had a heck of a time trying to find it again when I looked for it a few months ago.
Knitting a sock on circulars is not that much different from knitting a sock on dpns. The differences are that you usually split your stitches in half. When you want to do 2-at-a-time socks there’s other things to consider when knitting on circulars. Do you want to do the long single circular method or 2 circulars method? You can also learn to do 2-at-a-time on dpns, though that’s super easy to accidentally knit your socks together.
