Need help with cat plush pattern

Hello!

Im new here and in dire need of help with a pattern. Its a free pattern from raverly: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/four-cats-tabby-ginger-black--white--moggy

Im making the body and just did the row with (RS) K13, *k2tog, k1, k2tog, k to end of row. Then the next row says to knit RS again, am i missing something? Should i purl the WS first? As the pattern continues it doesnt say to purl the WS should i just assume that i should?

Hope you can help me, im sorry if my explanation in english isnt very good.

Welcome to KH!
The pattern is a bit cavalier here but though it doesn’t say, purl the WS (wrong side) rows

Hello
Yes, you are correct to work the wrong side as a purl row.
There are a couple of places in the pattern where it says “continue in st st” which is knit on the RS and purl on the WS but in this particular section is does not say this to make it very clear. However the whole cat is in stocking stitch so it’s all the knit a row purl a row but with set shaping of decreases and increases as detailed. A little later it does say to purl the wrong side, so the pattern is a little inconsistent… but it’s a cute cat and must be worth the little confusion as lots of people have made it.

Do ask if you have more questions or get stuck again. We’d love to see a photo of the cat when you’ve finished.

By the way, your English is excellent.

Hi! I need some assistance again im afraid, i sat down and knitted the purl row we talked about. After that comes ”(RS) k13, skpo, k1, k2tog, k10”. But when i do that there is one stitch too many. What have i done wrong? I have a total of 29 stitches.

It may be something that happened on an earlier row? The row you quoted takes 28sts to work and leaves you with 26sts. You can either leave it at that or decrease a stitch somewhere in the k13 or k10 sections.

In the earlier sequence i was left with 31stitches then worked 13 rows st st ending with a purl row. After that it says k2tog twice which should leave me with 29 stitches or am i way of track?

That correct. Two sts decreased taking you from 31 to 29 sts.
See if the next stitch count makes sense with either 28 or 29sts. Sometimes these stitch counts get wacky and then get back on track.

So i counted and i need 27 stitches to be able to decrease to 15 in the last stage! Becase it says to decrease 1 on each side of the center stitch which means two. So if i were to have had 26 stitches it wouldnt have worked

Good. So it works with 29 decreased to 27 and then the final set of decreases. It might be worth messaging the designer to let her know. At least one other project knitter on Ravelry mentions “small errors”.

Thanks for all the help!
Im pretty satisfied with my final result. It was my
first time doing a plush after all.

It was fun but not really my thing!

Never know you were a first timer. The cat worked out so well and you’ve captured the expression perfectly!
