I’ve reached the part to shape neck and that’s where I’m confused. The pattern says k1,s1,k1,psso,patt 7 ,turn, leave remaining sets on holder. The pattern I’m using has a cable and if i follow the pattern i would be in the middle of the cable(only able to knit 1 from CN) what am I not understanding

You’re going to be working one shoulder and leaving the remaining sts for the center neck and the other shoulder on hold. They can just hang out on the end of the needle. Because the sts for the center neck will eventually be either bound off or placed on a separate holder, you won’t need to work the cables. In fact it’s better not to work the cable cross at this point.
Check the pattern and see what happens to those center sts. What is the name of the pattern?
