I would like to knit this baby blanket for my soon-to-be grandbaby, but I don’t understand the instructions for the modified moss stitch border. The instructions for the bottom border say to do 6 rows ; do I knit Row 1, Row 2, Row 3, Row 4, Row 1 (again), Row 2 (again)?
And for the side borders (1st 7 stitches, last 7 stitches of row with pattern stitches in between), which row of Modified Moss Stitch do I knit? Instructions say: Begin working pattern stitch, working the first 7 sts and the last 7 sts of each row in Modified Moss Stitch. I know this should be fairly simple, but I can’t get it thru my thick head :wall: PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP. Here is the pattern http://www.straw.com/cpy/patterns/baby-child/bunny_hop-baby-blankt.html
Seems like the instructions are too vague for me - I need instructions to be written out st by st, row by row :teehee: . Thanks in advance for any help!
Yes, work the 4 rows of the Moss stitch pattern, then do rows 1 and 2 again.
For the side edges, they didn’t spell it for you st by st for every because that would be too wordy. All you have to do is follow the pattern that was set up on the first 6 rows. If a st looks like a purl, you knit it, if it looks like a knit st, you prul it. Then do the next 6 sts and the last 7 the same way.
Thank you Sue. That helps me alot. What about those slip sts for the border? Do I implement those also (last 7 sts)?
The slip sts are only the first st of the row, so you just work in pattern on the 7 at the end of the row.
