Need Help: Shaping Armhole Pattern Question

Hello everyone!
I’ve recently started a new knitting project with patterns and stitches I haven’t even thought of trying, and enjoying it lots - my previous knitting skills were knitting and purling, and that was about it…

However, now I’ve come to a point where I need advice and help to continue or be doomed with this project forever :aww:
I’m knitting a jacket, currently on the back part, reached the armhole shaping.

Shaping armhole pattern reads exactly as follows:
Bind off 6 sts at beg of next 2 rows, then bind off 4 sts at beg of foll 2 rows. Dec 1 st each end of row every row 3 times, then every other row 3 times.

Desperate Question: Does the decreasing start AFTER the 4 rows of binding off, so to say at the end of row 5 or possibly end of row 4, or do I decrease beginning with the first row of binding off already…??

What I did so far is binding off in the 4 rows (two times two) and then started thinking whether I should have done the decreasing already too.
Thank you so much for your help, I really, really appreciate it!!

You’ve done it correctly. . . each bind-off/decrease is done in the order listed.

You’ll get patterns that say AT THE SAME TIME . . . and that is where you will have to do different things at once.

Your decreases are straightforward.

Thank you very much Ingrid!!
