Need help on working "rows even"

Hi…this is the best site on the web in teaching someone knitting. It has taught me to knit that I’m now taking a class at the college. Well, I don’t have class today, and came across a new term I’ve yet had to deal with. Hoping someone can help me.

It says: Continuing with MC, decrease 1 st each side on the next 3 rows–47 sts. Work 21 rows even. Flap measures approx. 4 1/2". Decrease 1 st each side every rose 19 times.

I’m stuck at the “work 21 rows even” What does this mean? Plus, do I also work an additional 19 rows after this? This is the end of the project, so I’m kinda excited to finish. :XX:

It means you work the 47 sts for 21 rows. Then you will do the decreases for 19 more rows.
Hope that helps!

Thanks!! Info much appreciated. I was suspecting this might be the case, but didn’t want to chance it because well… frogging isn’t fun. lol.
