Hi. I am knitting my first sweater, a baby sweater, and am having trouble with the following instruction: with the right sides together, knit together the shoulder seams by taking one stitch from the front and one from the back and knitting together. cast off all stitches loosely.
After I knit the first two stitches together, what do I do?
Thanks for all explanations.

Sounds like a three needle bindoff, http://www.knittinghelp.com/videos/knitting-tips , for the video showing it.
Knit 1 A&B, knit 2 A&B. Pass 1 over 2.
Personally I would do the Kitchener stitch instead. You don’t have to follow patterns exactly.
I love 3-needle bind-off shoulders. So straight and strong.
