Need help for a pattern

Hello, I have a problem that I am still struggling with. Now, I’m working in (Back Piece) of Nordic Flower (XXL) https://www.garnstudio.com/pattern.php?id=11947&cid=19
Pattern says “Continue A.2 and cast off at the beginning of every row in each side: 2 stitches 1 time, and 1 stitch 3 times = 145 stitches” Does anyone know how to do this?
What am I struggling at this moment is, which row in the diagram should I make this cast off?cause I almost done this pattern without take any attention for the next instruction.
It’s a big pleasure for you guys that could help me. Thanks…

Welcome to KnittingHelp!
Cast off 2sts at the beginning of a right side (RS) row, work to the end, turn and cast off 2sts at the beginning of the wrong side (WS) row. Then work to the end of row and turn.
With the RS facing cast off one stitch at the beginning of the row, work to the end, turn, cast off one stitch on the WS row and work to the end of the row. Repeat these last two rows two more times. There will be in total 10sts cast off, 5 on each side.

You should begin this shaping when you reach the given measurement, 24cm from the cast on edge. Once the shaping is finished you’re going to put this piece aside and work the front left and right shoulders, and front then join the pieces to knit the body.

Woohoo! I really appreciate for your quick help!
Yet, I forgot to told one more things about my confusion
How to do this cast off? It’s something new for me after knitting with a different pattern anyway…

Hello
It’s just a normal cast off or bind off, if you have done one before

The only difference is you don’t hind off all the stitches, just the number given, then continue working the row as before.

When on the wrong side row you can do a bind off purl wise, purl the 1st stitch, purl the 2nd stitch, pass 1st over 2nd to bind off.

Hope this helps

Umm, I forgot one more things btw…
This cast off is only at the beginning of every rows, right? not also at the end?

The pattern reads in quite a confusing way “every row in each side” is not as clear as it could be.

If you follow the detailed description from salmonmac (on this thread, the second post) you will get it right.

Bind offs aren’t usually at each end on the same row even when it says this because a normal bind off only happens at the beginning of the row. Therefore even when it is said as each end it is really the beginning of the row, then work to the end of the row, turn and work the bind off, work to end of row, turn, bind off at beginning and so on.

Salmonmacs description will work.

Hi, Salmonmac
I’ve done my Back Piece, now I’m working in Left Shoulder, and I wanna asking you again
“Purl 1 row from wrong side, then work as follows from right side: 1 edge stitch in garter stitch, Work the last 4 last stitches in A.3,1 time in total, work A.3 over the next 48 stitches and finish with 1 edge stitch.”
What I am confused about is in the words that I bolded. What does it mean “4 last stitches,1 time in total”. And suddenly I have to do A.3 at 48 stitches. Where did the 6 stitches go?

Wow, you’re zooming along!
I believe you cast on 54 for this section and you are confused about the repeat across 48 sts rather than 54. Is that right?

1 edge stitch in garter = 1st
Last 4 sts of chart A3 = 4st
Repeat A3 across 48 sts (it is 8 st wide x 6 repeats) = 48
1 edge stitch in garter = 1
Total 1 + 4 + 48 + 1 = 54

I suggest markers after 5 sts (this the 1 edge and the 4 last sts of the chart) then every 8 sts for the chart repeat, leaving 1 edge stitch.

Work the last 4 sts of the chart means ignore the first 4 sts for the first repeat, begin stitch 5 on the chart but it will be stitch 2 on the needles. Work chart sts 5, 6, 7, 8, then the repeat begins properly, the full 8 sts.
On the WS row it will be 1 edge then 6 full repeats, ending with 4 stitch rep and 1 edge, but markers will keep you on track.

Sometimes patterns sound like they are off centre to the sweater (by doing half a chart) but you should find it is nicely centred like in the pattern photo.

Does that help you move on, or still unsure?

You are making such good progress on this sweater. Creations has accounted for the stitch numbers that you were concerned about. Just to be clear, after the one edge stitch, you’re going to skip the first 4sts of chart A3 and begin the row in the middle of the chart. This is to fit the pattern into the total number of sts for your size.

Can’t wait to see a photo of this sweater when you finish!

Ahhh, surelyyy. I’d take a picture of this sweater soon

Hey there, I wanna asking you again
“On 18th row in diagram begin increase for neck, cast on new stitches at the end of every row from wrong side as follows: 1 stitch 1 time, 2 stitches 2 times and 3 stitches 1 time = 62 stitches, work the increased stitches in the pattern.”
How to do this?

At the end of row 18, a WS row you will work a cast on. This can be a knit cast on or cable cast on. I’d probably go for knit cast on which is slightly less bulky.
After casting on 1 new stitch, turn and on row 19, the RS, take into account this new stitch needs to be worked in the colour pattern. You will be starting the chart one stitch earlier than previously (from memory this is your half chart where you had an edge stitch in garter then the last 4 stitches of chart colourwork). You need to keep the new stitches aligned in pattern, you can look at where your marker is placed on the needle and count back for the number of chart stitches. This time instead of 4 chart stitch and a garter edge it will be 5 chart stitches and a garter edge.

Each time you cast on more stitches at the end of the wrong side, you will need to check on the right side where to begin on the chart to keep the pattern aligned.

The number to cast on is
Row 18. CO 1
Row 20. CO 2
Row 22. CO 2
Row 24. CO 3

8 new stitches cast on in total

When you have a full set of 8 chart stitches (instead of that half chart or half motif) place a new marker to denote the 8mstitch repeat.
When you have more stitches to the right of the marker, work these as the last stitches in the chart. Like you did before with the last 4 sts of the chart. Now work last 1 stitch, the last 2 sts etc always looking to your marker to see which chart column relates to which stitch on the needle.
And keep the selvedge garter.

Hope this helps.
If something isn’t clear, let us know.

Making great progress!

Umm, I’m a little confused when I want to cast on the wrong side, is it the same way when casting on the right side?
