Need help figuring out how to add arms :(

So I started knitting Corona and I finally finished the two arms but now I’m having trouble figuring out how to add the arms onto the body. I’ve never added on the arms before, I’ve always just picked up stitches and gone on from there, so before I dived in, I wanted to make sure that I was doing this right. This is what the pattern tells me to do. Is there any simpler way to explain how to do this?

Joining Arms to the Body
Pick up Body and knit to 4 (4, 6, 6, 6, 8, 8) sts before first side-marker.
Put these 4 (4, 6, 6, 6, 8, 8) sts on scrap yarn. Remove side marker, and put the following
4 (4, 6, 6, 6, 8, 8) sts on scrap yarn.
Place marker, pick up and k the 40 (40, 42, 48, 52, 54, 64) arms sts not on scarp yarn.
Place marker. K across back of sweater until 4 (4, 6, 6, 6, 8, 8) sts before second side
marker. Place these 4 (4, 6, 6, 6, 8, 8) sts on scrap yarn, remove marker, and place
following 4 (4, 6, 6, 6, 8, 8) sts on scrap yarn. Incorporate second arm in the same
manner as the first. K across front of body and cable panel.

You work across the front stitches of the sweater, putting the last 4(or your size) stitches on scrap yarn. This is half the underarm.

Then you’ll put the first 4 stitches of the back section on yarn for the other half of the underarm.

Now your yarn is still on the end of the front section, and you’ll knit the 40 stitches of the arm onto that needle. This may be very awkward for the first few rows, but it will get easier.

Work across the back of the sweater, putting the last 4 stitches on a scrap yarn and putting the first 4 stitches of the front on scrap yarn. Then knit across the second sleeve and continue across the front. Now the entire sweater will be on one needle for the yoke.
