Need a good scarf pattern for

Goldilocks yarn! It’s for my d-i-l who just wrote me to ask. Anyone know a good one, not too difficult? She’s a beginning knitter who just took her first knitting course last fall, but works very carefully and has nice tension already! a keener…

With a fuzzy yarn like that you don’t need a complicated pattern. Garter st, or stockinette with garter edges will look good. Ribbing may be okay, or a basketweave pattern - k6, p6 for 6 rows then switch to p6, k6 for 6 rows.

Hi!
that yarn looks somewhat like “Poodle” by Drops. Due to an unfortunate misstranslating or a lack of correspondence between Norvegian and English they write “Puddel” in their yarn choice

But here is my search on their site for all projects out of that yarn. Some scarfs included, of course.

The patterns are free and available in English:

Edit: Haha, you can not link a real search result… please put “Puddel” into the yarn choice and make a search. Sorry.

This one here might be a nice twist to a simple garter stitch scarf:

Or one with a hood?

I’m gonna have to aggree with Suzeeq on this. Any real pattern is just gonna get lost in that yarn. Stick with something simple.

not to create confusion: I too agree on a very simple stitch sequence: garter or stochinette. The 2 patterns I linked are nothing else - they just are about the shaping of a scarf. The first one gets looped through itself and the second one has a hood.

Another vote for a garter stitch scarf. I am doing one with a super-bulky weight yarn that is curly like that and it is turning out very nice.

I recently used the Mistake Stitch for a scarf and fell in love with it! I don’t think the accordian effect will be lost using this yarn. Might try a few rows and see if you like it? Very simple pattern.

Thanks, CatToy, I printed it out, will mail it to her. I’m putting together a booklet for her, of my favorite patterns which are free on the 'net.
