I need help with the neck band instructions. I can’t visualize how to do this at all.

The neckband is going to be worked from sts on holders and sts you pick up along the top edge of the sweater parts. It may help to place safety pins or markers along the edge to mark off lengths (1/4 or 1/2 the length) so that your sts are fairly evenly distributed.
Here’s a video for picking up sts:
Start with the right front sts on the holder. That’s the right front as you would wear the sweater. It is an adorable little cardigan.

Sorry I am confused again. I’ve knit the stitches of the right front holder, now do I cut the yarn to pick up stitches around the rest of the collar?
And also do I begin picking up stitches from the left side of the collar and work my way forward to the right side?
No need to cut the yarn. Make sure you’re beginning with the right front as you would wear the sweater.
See the black arrow below. The red arrow shows the direction in which to knit.
