Having trouble with this neckband. Now unpicked again but I got as far as sewing the left shoulder to 2.5cm, leaving the last 6 stitches of the back and front shoulder unstitched, presumably this is to allow for a bigger opening for the baby’s head.
Then picking up from the left, round the front, the right hand side, then the back but I don’t understand the last bit about the top of the right shoulder. I’ve got them already haven’t I after picking up the front stitches? After the back stitches I picked up the 6 stitches from each side of the open left shoulder but think this must be wrong.
Had trouble using the circular needle so did it with dpns. but it just didn’t come out right at all. Where am I going wrong? Can anyone please explain?
Yes, this is an error. The sts for the buttonhole band are meant to be picked up on the left shoulder.
It may be a bit bulky to pick up sts from both the back left and front left. It seems to me that it would be better to pick up sts from the back left only. The buttons would be sewn onto the left shoulder and then the back extension with button holes would overlap the front and button.
