I am so excited to have found this web.I have a huge problem finishing a sweater neck.I have the correct number of stitches but once I have finished the neck 2 people could fit into it.I don’t knit loose so I am hoping somebody can give me a solution.Thanks in advance
Is the pattern online? It helps if we can see what it looks like.
Would it help if the neck were longer? Or you could reduce the number of stitches as you work.
Thank you both for replying so quickly.The sweater was in a magazine.It is for a 5 year old girl.Now that it is finished the collar looks like a boat neck.I have not put on the buttons as I have been discouraged.The idea of reducing the number of stitches sounds good but,would it turn out like a mandarin collar>
I think if you gradually reduced the stitches and maybe made the collar longer, it wouldn’t stand up if that’s what you’re afraid of.
