Neck shape pattern

Hello, I am currently knitting a turtleneck sweater, I downloaded this pattern for free. I am currently stuck on the neck shape, I am confused over this instruction:

Shape neck: 1st row: (RS). K2.
ssk. K10. K2tog (neck edge). Turn.
Leave rem sts on a spare needle.
2nd row: Purl.
Dec 1 st at neck edge on next and
alt rows, AT SAME TIME, dec 1 st
at raglan edge (as before) on next
*and alt rows until there are 4 sts.
Next row: (WS). Purl.
Next row: ssk. K2tog. 2 sts.
Next row: P2.
Next row: K2tog. Fasten off.
With RS facing, slip next 17 (17-19-
19-21-21) sts onto st holder. Join
yarn to rem sts. ssk. Knit to last
4 sts. K2tog. K2.

I don’t understand where to do the decreases. Like am I supposed to alternate between the rows written below? But then what about the instructions on those rows?
Please help, thank you.

Hello
Looks like you’re starting with 14 sts, is that right?

So far you have been decreasing at the raglan edge of the yoke/shoulder piece, and now you are going to also decrease at the neck edge.

Next and alt rows mean on the next row and every other row, if you call the next row, row 1, then the decreases are on
Rows 1, 3, 5, 7, 9
As the instruction is for next and alt rows for the neck edge and for the raglan edge you will be decreasing both edges on the same row, this is a knit row, the RS row. Therefore each dec row has 1 st decreased for the raglan and 1 st Dec for the neck, that’s 2 sts total decreased each time you work a decrease row.

The WS rows are purled as before to maintain the stockinette pattern.
When you have done these you should have 4 sts remaining and will have finished the bold section of the pattern.

Then continue your pattern with “next row(WS) purl” and so on to complete the last few rows of this shoulder.

Does this make sense?

What is the pattern you are making?

Hiii! Just wanted to give an update, I’ve finished the sweater and it came out soooooooo good. Its a bit smaller than I wanted but I blame that solely on my small knitting needles. In the pattern I’m supposed to use size 4 I think, but I used a size almost half of that. But it fits well and looks good!!!
