What to make, what to make! I got some awesome orange and yellow (think 70’s) yarn if undertimined materials today at the thrift store ($.99 each!) It is a bulky weight and I have quite a bit of each color… now what should I make with it???
Mystery Thrift store yarn
a candy corn costume!? …just a thought.
Ohhh, I’m seeing a diamond pattern vest!! Very 70’s chic!
Or slippers. You could do slippers. And arm warmers and a hat!
Maybe a bold striped scarf, done in k1, p1 ribbing, say, 20 rows of each color? The ribbing would make it lay flat, without a busy texture to clash with the stripes. I’m thinking a narrow scarf with fringe, but a wide scarf could look cool too. If it’s a nice wool, a matching hat could be fun. Not sure if I’d go for a hat if it’s acrylic.
Lots of kid’s clothes options…
Amy
I love Amy’s idea…but thought I would throw in a striped hoodie idea. I am making an orange hoodie right now (very slowly making), so I may be partial…but the spring colors are nice and bright, so it would work. Maybe a lightweight stole?
I love that idea. I have a really cool vintage leather jacket that it would look so cool with.
I’m thinking Yarn Mommy’s favourite colour is orange?!!
I’ve got the pink/orange bug, too… just bought oodles of orangey-yellow and pink yarn.
so I may be partial…but the spring colors are nice and bright, so it would work.
Alas, these are not spring colored yarns. The orange is really like a rust color and the yellow is just like a stove I used to have.
