Mysterious line in circular knitting

Asking for all you lovely peoples help again. Knitting a beanie for a coworker. Started on circulars and just transferred over to DP’s to decrease for the crown. Everything was going good then I noticed a stitch had slipped off a ways back from having too many stitches on one needle I think. Went back to slip it on and noticed a strand behind the stitches. I would think it’s a dropped stitch? So it was knit 3, knit 2 together, and the stand is behind the second stitch…

My green marker was beginning of round, then did one, two, three, k2t… So that’s where the stand is at. The orange marker is just where I was marking after every k2t stitch.

I know this is a lot lol, can anyone help? Not sure where or what to do with the strand…

OK. So I bit the bullet and tinked back till I got to the spot… It appears as though I just slipped a stitch and forgot to work it. The stitch with the yard behind it was never worked :man_facepalming:
