My Stash is taking over

I would like to make pretty scarves, but my skills are very limited. I just learned how to knit. Any suggestions?

Also, is there a way to use fuzzy yarn so that the stitches are shown? For example, fun fur doesnt seem to show the stitches…could i mix it with a more plain yarn and make larger stitches?

Some of my stash:
6 skeins Mode Dea Wild (3 blueish, 3 greenish)
3 skeins Mode Dea ticker tape (pinkish)
4 skeins Caron Simply Soft Quick (2 pink, 2 black)
1 skein Lion Homespun (bright pink)
1 skein Fiore (like fun fur)
4 skeins Cashmere luxury chunky (45% merino wool, 49% microfiber, 6% cashmere)
3 skeins Gedifra Barrocco
4 skeins Gedifa Tagliato
2 skeins Lion Brand Kool Wool (1 red, 1 black)

I love nearly every free pattern on knittinggarden.com but I cant seem to find any of them online.

I bought alot of yarn when a local craft store went out of business…just liking the colors and texture, I bought large quantities of the same yarns.Then I went to the internet search site…typed in the name of the yarn along with pattern! AND VOILA! I found alot of cute patterns for the fibers I had…You can also look at sites with similar fiber contents (type that in too on search) and you can find patterns that will work with similar yarns.

i made this one scarf for my mom’s friend. i had dark blue fun fur and regular worsted acrylic yarn in a medium/lightish blue, i used red heart super saver from walmart (its the only yarn you can find there!), and held the two strands together as one. i just worked in k1 p1 ribbing until it was long enough with size 19 needles. it only took me a few hours to make.

I got a bunch of LB Boucle on clearance and paired it up with a strand of the Fun Fur I got on sale. The pattern is on their website for knit or crochet. Basically all you do is cast on 8 stitches on 15 mm needles and keep on going until you run out of one of the yarns. Each scarf took one ball of each. You can “kinda” see the stitches, but I don’t think any of the novelty yarns really show off a stitch pattern that well.

I haven’t taken pics of my girls wearing their scarves yet, but I could let you know when I do if you’re interested in seeing them.
