I’ve seen over on the angel forum that people have been making a scarf called 'My So Called Scarf’
I would love to make this, does anyone know where i can find the pattern?

oh WOW love that pattern! yup printed it to add to the never ending pile!
I also love the pattern but dont fully understand it could someone explain it to me PLEAZ!! :??
What part don’t you get? Maybe I can help - I just made one.
I did a google search but it does not come up with any place to order the yarn that the scarf calls for. Anyone have any suggestions as to another yarn that would work well with this pattern?? thanks
what did you google? Manos is pretty popular…

it isn’t cheap but it is pretty!
i bought some off ebay from a seller called southwool,
there’s also another seller who sells is http://stores.ebay.co.uk/handpainted-wool_W0QQsspagenameZFAVQ3aFQ3aSLLRQQtZkm
I’ve just started knitting with the wool from southwool and it is excellent, very soft.

i just read my response…sorry i really didn’t mean that to sound snotty i was just surprised that it wasn’t coming up! (i decided that i can’t read the news anymore cuz it just makes me grumpy!)
i wound up having a little bit of a problem w/it at first also… not so much the slip knit piggyback knit knit… (makes sense to me now that i’m halfway thru it) but the purl side… the double dutch ya do w/the purl (also makes sense to me now) purl thang… totally had me confused… AND i was so confused that i didnt even KNOW i was confused (wound up w/eight stitches meanwhile ya start w/thirty, not once but TWICE)…
so if it’s the purl side… you purl two together… BUT before you move the stitches off your needle you purl again… right in between them… (it’s a little tricky w/the very first stitches on the row) and then slip them off (two stitches) onto your other needle…
if it’s the knit side… you slip the first stitch, knit the next…piggyback the slipped one over then ya kinda knit twice into that same stitch and then move it all over to the next needle…
hope that helps… it’s really a very cool stitch… i feel like i’m an official knitter now that i’ve gotten something like this under my belt…
That’s a great price!! I’ll be back. . . .
I’ve tried this scarf in different yarns I have and they just didn’t work with the pattern.
Thank you, Mer, I ordered Circo.
I used a beautiful varigated yarn, Plassard Versatile, but the thick and thin quality of it obscured the pattern a little bit. Live and learn.
Whatever you do, avoid having to frog at all costs!
That’s the problem I had. I tried with two beautiful yarn, but they were the thick/thin and you just couldn’t see the stitch pattern.
I was stubborn tho and finished the darn scarf. I couldn’t imagine using the yarn for anything else and I really wanted a scarf in that pattern. Unfortunately I don’t have enough for the hat.
I guess you’ll just have to buy more, then, huh? Bummer.

I only paid $2 a ball from someone unloading their stash - I can’t afford it retail!!!
Elann has it for $5.48!!! Not all the colors though, but you can ask them to let you know when stock increases.
