Just wanted to share a few pics of the cake practical that I completed at my cake class today.

Front of cake
Close up of some of the flowers
The flowers were fun to make and so was the fabric effect on the front of the cake. I have another practical coming up so I have to practice practice practice!
Lisa, that is the most beautiful cake I’ve ever seen…you are truly gifted! Was it hard to learn?..You’re an artist for sure!
Keep up the great work and send me a cake!
Merry :cheering: :cheering: :cheering:
That’s a beautiful cake!!! Stunning. I’d hate to be the one to cut into it! The fabric effect is something I’ve never seen before. Very pretty! And the flowers seem so real! I thought they were at least silk ones. Very lovely work. Show us the next one too?? samm
Thank you all so much for your wonderful compliments! It’s a real confidence booster coming from you guys!
Gardenmommy - I would like to do this to earn some extra cash. I really enjoy making and decorating cakes (I’ve done some in royal icing - this one is fondant) and I should be able to do wedding cakes when I’m done.
Mommo_Jo - yes, the flowers are totally edible! But most people take them off the cake and keep them for posterity.
Pink Dandelion - I’d love to! LOL! This will be an excellent reason to get married here in Barbados!
Old Knitter - I’ve been taking lessons for 5 weeks now. 5 more and I’ll be done!
Merry Knitter - At first I wasn’t sure what I was doing, but a little practice and the right materials and it was easier than I’d imagined. So… what kind of cake? LOL! This one is laced with brown rum and cherry brandy - 100% Bajan cake! LOL! :teehee:
Samm - I sure will! I have another practical in a few weeks :happydance:
